Our Comprehensive Car Insurance product has changed

Our Comprehensive Car Insurance changed on 8 December 2023 for new policies and renewing policies.

The product previously known as RAA Comprehensive Car Insurance is now known as RAA Premium Comprehensive Car Insurance and some of the benefits have changed.

RAA Standard Comprehensive Car Insurance did not change.

Existing customers

If you currently have RAA Comprehensive Car Insurance, your product won’t change until you renew. Before your product is due to renew, we’ll send you a renewal notice explaining the changes. You’ll automatically transition to RAA Premium Comprehensive Car Insurance at renewal unless you ask to move onto a different type of policy. You can contact us to discuss your options on 8202 4567.

If you currently have Standard Comprehensive Car Insurance, there'll be no impact to your product and you'll be renewed to Standard Comprehensive Car Insurance unless you ask to move onto a different type of policy.

New customers

You can now choose between RAA Standard Comprehensive and RAA Premium Comprehensive Car Insurance when purchasing a new policy. You can get a quote and purchase online, by phone or in store.



Frequently asked questions

  • Will I retain my Lifetime Vehicle Replacement (LVR) benefit once my policy changes?

    If you're eligible for the Lifetime Vehicle Replacement benefit with your existing RAA Comprehensive Car Insurance policy, you'll continue to have the benefit after your policy changes to Premium Comprehensive. The benefit will no longer be available if you cancel your policy or change your vehicle.

    You will only be eligible for this benefit if:

    • you have held a Comprehensive Car Insurance policy for your vehicle with RAA continuously from the date you purchased your vehicle;
    • your original Comprehensive Car Insurance policy with RAA commenced prior to 8 December 2023;
    • you purchased your vehicle new (including a demonstration model); and
    • the year of manufacture of your vehicle is 2014 or after.

    The Lifetime Vehicle Replacement benefit is not available with any Standard Comprehensive Car Insurance policy. It's also not available with any Premium Comprehensive Car Insurance policy that isn't renewing from an existing RAA Comprehensive Car Insurance policy.

  • What is the mobility benefit?

    If your car is being repaired, you may have to pay for other forms of transport such as Uber or Taxi. The $200 mobility benefit will be paid to you to help cover any transport costs if the repair is needed because of a select type of incident. The type of incidents the benefit applies to includes when there is damage to your vehicle from an accident or theft.

  • Can I change the type of Comprehensive cover I have?

    Yes, you can change to Standard or Premium Comprehensive Car Insurance from a different type. Each cover level has different benefits so it’s important that you consider your needs when selecting a policy. Please call us to discuss and arrange a change on 8202 4567
