When's the best time to charge my EV?
It’s usually most cost-effective to charge your EV at night. Most power companies charge less for electricity at certain times – usually between midnight and 6am, when demand is at its lowest. While you sleep, you can charge your EV using an off-peak tariff, which typically applies between 12 midnight and 6am.
If you need to charge your EV during the day, and you have a solar system, you can program your charger to use excess solar from your home or renewable energy from the grid via the South Australian Solar Sponge Tariff.
