Member Panel

To help us represent the views of more than 800,000 members, RAA regularly surveys members via our online Member Panel.

If you want to join the Member Panel, we’ll email you a survey every couple of months or so. They’re easy to follow and each one should take no more than 10 minutes to complete. We use the results from these surveys to feed into a range of RAA policies and advocacy activities, such as submissions to the government on proposed changes to legislation.

Where suitable, RAA aims to deliver short reports back to Member Panel participants, and the results from each survey are available below.

2023 results

• Electric vehicles (July 2023) - we asked our members for their opinions and attitudes on electric vehicles in South Australia.
• Personal mobility devices (April 2023) - we asked our members for their views on and experiences with personal mobility devices in South Australia.

2022 results

• Urban planning and population growth (December 2022) - we asked our members for their views on the future of South Australia, including the urban landscape and changing population.
• Public transport (October 2022) - we asked our members about their usage and experiences with public transport.
• Election advocacy focus groups (January 2022) - we ran four online focus groups to find out how members feel about RAA advocacy activities and election priorities.

2021 results

• Home (August 2021) – we asked our members about solar and home battery systems, government energy initiatives, home insurance and new housing developments.

• Member Panel feedback (July 2021) – we asked RAA Member Panel participants about their experience, and how it could be improved going forward.

• Walking (June 2021) – we asked our members how much walking they do, their attitudes towards walking and what might encourage them to walk more often.

• Tourism (April 2021) – we asked our members about the travel they have done over the past year, their travel intentions for the year ahead and their ideas on ways to increase tourism.

• Fuel prices (February 2021) – prior to the launch of real-time fuel pricing, we surveyed our members to see how well they understand how fuel pricing works.

2020 results

• Impact of COVID-19 on transport usage (October 2020) – we asked our members what impact COVID-19 has had on the way they use transport and what opportunities they see to improve transport in response.

• Tourism infrastructure (September 2020) – we asked our members what needs to be done to improve their experience when travelling within South Australia and how to attract more visitors to our state.

• Member Panel feedback (June 2020) – members were asked about their experience of being on the RAA Member Panel and how it could be improved going forward.

• Road safety strategy (June 2020) – we asked our members what they think should be the priorities for South Australia’s next road safety strategy.

• Electric vehicles (May 2020) – this survey explored member attitudes towards electric vehicles and what, if anything, the government should be doing to promote them.
