At RAA, we're on a mission to make energy fairer and more affordable for South Australians. So we've partnered with Energy Locals, an Australian green energy company, to offer our members a transparent electricity plan option.
Almost 80% of residential customers could be paying less for their energy, according to an ACCC inquiry into the National Electricity Market. Customers who've stayed loyal to their retailer are often worse off. And those offered seemingly attractive large conditional discounts aren't always saving money.
We think Energy Locals offers a better deal.
A cheap and fair model
Energy Locals doesn't rely on inflated and flashy headline discounts or offers, like some energy retailers. Instead, they pass the exact same wholesale rates they buy energy for on to their customers.
Their profits aren't tied to how much energy you use. You'll just pay a fixed monthly fee for access to wholesale prices.
Green, sustainable energy
Energy Locals is committed to providing cleaner energy at no extra cost.
They're working to be 100% renewable and provide most customers with carbon offsets for their usage in the meantime. Plus, they're Greenpower accredited, have a 4.5 Greenpeace Green Electricity Rating and have won Finder's Green Energy Retailer of the Year three times.

About RAA's partnership with Energy Locals
-
Why is RAA partnering with Energy Locals?
We're on a mission to make energy cheaper, cleaner and fairer. With the rising costs of living, it's become clear that the average energy plan just isn't working for South Australians, the environment or the future of energy.
A recent inquiry into the National Electricity Market by Australia's independent consumer watchdog (the ACCC) found that almost 80 per cent of residential customers could be paying less for their energy. What's more, hundreds of customers who have stayed loyal to their retailer are now worse off.
We want more for our members. That's why we're now partnering with Energy Locals to offer RAA members a fairer deal on electricity.

Why is RAA no longer partnered with Simply Energy?

How is Energy Locals different to other energy companies?

Energy Locals also offers customers additional benefits, including:
- Cleaner energy for a greener and more sustainable environmental future
- No lock in contracts or exit fees
- An Australian based customer support team
-

-
I have a premium Feed-in-Tariff (FiT). Will this transfer to Energy Locals if I switch?
Yes. Your premium solar Feed-in-Tarriff is connected to your address, not your energy retailer. So if you currently receive a solar premium Feed-in-Tariff (FiT), it will transfer across with you if you switch to Energy Local.
Just make sure you sign up to Energy Locals with the same account name as was used with your previous provider.
-
I have gas and electricity with my current provider. Can I still sign up with Energy Locals?
Our investigations into the energy market indicate most energy retailers no longer provide discounts for bundling your gas and electricity.
Energy Locals is an electricity only retailer. If you sign up with them, you'll just have separate retailers for your electricity and gas supply.
